THE BEST PLACES TO TAKE PICTURES IN DENTON, TX

MY FAVORITE LOCATIONS IN DENTON FOR STUNNING PHOTOS

I am on a mission to scope out the best places to take pictures in Denton, Texas! This town is full of gems when it comes to photoshoot locations and I am here to help you pick the best one for you. Whether it’s senior pictures, engagement photos, a family session, or you living your best life, I’ve got a location for you!

1. RAY ROBERTS GREENBELT TRAILHEAD

Okay this one may technically be in Aubrey… but it’s only like 20 minutes away

The Ray Roberts Greenbelt Trailhead (WHEW THAT’S A MOUTHFUL) is my new favorite location in the Denton area for photos! It’s a little out of the way, but the location is so worth the 20 minutes it took me to get there. The main trail provides stunning greens, with tree coverage for cool shade and perfect lighting! I can’t wait to get more photos here because there is tons of variety in the landscape here. You’ve got the trail through the woods, a more open sidewalk trail, gorgeous wide open green spaces for those plains vibes, and the best part – a SUPER easy hike to the water (and by hike I mean like 15 steps). 

This is a perfect location for families and couples!

2. Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center

Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center is sooo dreamy and super accessible! This is the perfect spot for flowery meadows in the spring and beautiful colors in the fall. Be prepared to walk in taller grass for the most stunning spots. There are GORGEOUS spots right by the parking lot or take the trails for more secluded and woodsy areas, landing it a place in my list of favorite places to take pictures in Denton!

This is a perfect location for families, couples, and individuals!

3. NORTH LAKES PARK

North Lakes Park is a boho dream! The tall grass lends itself to really cute and whimsical photos. Most of the year, these parts of the park give off fall vibes with lots of tans and browns. If you love warm boho photos, this is a great spot for you, but you’ve got to be brave and step into the weeds! This is a great locations for pants and shoes that can get just a tiny bit dirty. 

This is a perfect location for graduating seniors!

4. THE SQUARE

The Square is probably the most “Denton” place you could take photos! A “best places to take pictures in Denton” list wouldn’t be complete without it! There’s a ton of variety on and around the square, as you can see from my example images. You’ll have to sign a waiver, but you can even take photos in Recycled Books. The courthouse makes for classic cute pictures and there are so many different wall textures along the buildings! If you walk around just outside the square, you’ll stumble across several murals and painted walls.

This is a perfect location for graduating seniors going for a more urban feel!

5. SOUTH LAKES PARK

South Lakes Park also has a good deal of variety! You’ve got lots of trees, for a walk in the “woods” without actually being in the woods. There’s water, too, and lots of open green space. If you walk out further, there are also several nice bridges in the park. The best part, is that there’s an epic playground so little ones can play a little before or after the photoshoot! 

This location is great for families, nuclear or extended!
